on the 6ten horizon

by barry moore on February 4th, 2011

The last couple of weeks have been major landmarks in the life of 6ten. On January 23 we celebrated the ministry of Stu Shelby as he joined us for his last Sunday at 6ten. Stu began this week as the Rector of St. Richard's Episcopal Church in Round Rock, TX. We are very excited about the ministry that Stu will have in Central Texas.

Last week we were joined after 6ten by country music star and Grammy nominee Pat Green. Pat grew up in the Diocese of Texas an shared stories and songs with our students and their families. Everyone at the event was blown away by how candid and thoughtful Pat's performance was. We are extrememly grateful to Pat for joining us!

Now... on to the future. Below are a few things we want everyone to be aware of for the next month:

1st, click here and "like" the new 6ten facebook page. We're trying to move all of the 6ten info from the current group to a "fan page". Facebook makes it a lot easier for us to communicate with our folks via the fan page.

2nd, we WILL gather this Sunday (Feb 6) at 6:10 to worship in the Old Church. We are well aware that there is a semi-important sporting event planned at the same time but we'd love to see you at 717 Sage.

3rd, February 13th will be a big day in our life as we begin a new chapter: post Stuart. Please join us on Feb 13 as we begin to share the exciting tweaks we've got planned for our life as a community.

So head on over to the 6ten fan page and "like" it. I hope to see you this Sunday and that you'll make a point to join us on Feb 13th (when there are no football games going on).
